  • Completed FDLE/FBI criminal background checks
The components of the background check include two parts:
    1) A background check done online through VerifiedCredentials.com. Details may be obtained from nursing.remingtoncollege.edu/backgroundcheck.
    2) A Level II Criminal Background Check from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Contact the College to have a FDLE / FBI fingerprint card to be sent to you. All applicants are responsible for paying for the costs of the background checks and are advised to begin the process well in advance of submitting the application package to the College. Your application cannot be processed without these background check results. Click here to read more about the background check process.

    Process
    1. Contact an Admissions Representative to have a FDLE/ FBI fingerprint card sent to you. Once the card is received, follow the instructions as directed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Do not forget to send the required payment. Fingerprints may be complete from a local police station who may charge a fee for their services. Be careful not to bend or alter the fingerprint card or you may invalidate the results. Be sure to start early as results can take up to eight weeks. These results are sent directly to Remington College of Nursing.
    2. Complete the VerifiedCredentials.Com background check online. You can access this service through a link at www.remingtonnursing.com/backgroundcheck. The cost of $45.00 is the responsibility of the student. Payment is done via credit card online. Results are returned generally in 3 days to both the applicant and the College. Make a copy of the last page verifying payment and submit with your application.

    Important points to remember:
    a. The nursing.remingtoncollege.edu/backgroundcheck site directs you through the background check process. Your background check will be sent to your email address. There is a possibility that the report may get filtered through your spam or junk mail filtering system installed on your computer and that you will need to look for it in your junk mail folder.
    b. Remington College of Nursing will have on-line access to your completed background check report. Should the background check raise areas of concern related to your participation in a College of Nursing program, you will be contacted by an Admissions Coordinator.

  • A resumé or curriculum vita
You must provide accurate information about your education and work histories, your healthcare experience (paid or volunteer), leadership experiences (paid or volunteer), community involvement/service, and any additional relevant information.

  • Completed Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
Applicants can go to www.atitesting.com and sign up at any location where TEAS are being offered for outside takers. If the applicants do not find a location online that is close to them, they can call ATI at 1-800-667-7531 to be referred to a testing center in their area.

Once a test is completed, the applicant must request a TEAS transcript from his/her ATI account to be sent to Remington College of Nursing in Lake Mary, Florida.

  • $50 application fee
This fee, paid by personal check or money order and made payable to Remington College of Nursing must be included with your application.

Once the College of Nursing Admissions Office receives all of the required information, an Admissions Coordinator may contact you for a personal interview. After completion of the interview, the College's Admission, Progression and Graduation Committee will review your information and forward a final recommendation to the Campus President/Dean.

A letter will be mailed to you indicating your acceptance, denial, or waitlist status. Admissions decisions will not be conveyed by telephone.
